ARN KREBS ARTS HIGHLIGHTS:
GURI BORI PATTERN
WHAT IS GURI BORI?

Guri Bori a metal-smithing technique that consists of layering different-colored metals to carve arabesques and spiral patterns. It is still possible to discern the beautiful layering of metals on the existing guribori sword guards, even those that are several hundred years old... This Mokume Gane ring is patterned in the "Guri Bori" style which leaves the carved surface as relief showing the layers like topographic lines which match the contours of the carving.
