Contemporary Mokume Gane Jewelry
Our Mokume Gane is made with precious mixed metals such as gold, silver and palladium. Derived from the Japanese craft of Damascus which was used in ancient Japan, mokume is a sister to this art form. It differs in that it allows for a whole range of colors, patterns. and metals rather than the singularity of steel. The beauty of mokumes' color is unsurpassed.
"Mokume Gane" translates from Japanese to "woodgrain metal," referring to the unique patterning that results from a complex process of laminating, fusing, forging and carving into precious metals.
Our pieces are crafted to last and are unlined so the depth and patterns of this Japanese metalworking technique can be seen though and through. Our patterns are based on those found in nature and in turn I only use responsibly sourced stones & metals in all of my work.
Arn will work with you to design something together from scratch, or to create a new version of one of his original ring designs.
