Wall Sculpture

“I hope that my work connects viewers with networks of things like the glowing solar system, sparkling stars, planets, and lush gardens. “  - Art Summit

Sue Freda’s wall sculptures explore structure and transparency, each varying in material, movement, scale, intricacy, and narrative.

Many are constructed using a self-invented weaving technique, in which a continuous strand of wire is intricately woven to create web-like structures and build form. This process extends into a range of materials, often incorporating handmade glass, locally mined mica, and reclaimed elements from Rhode Island’s historic jewelry and textile industries.

While her dress sculptures have been a defining element of her practice, with nearly 2,000 unique pieces created to date, her tapestries continue this exploration in more abstract compositions. Each is distinct in form and presence.

Each piece is unique. Available works may be purchased online or by inquiry. If a piece has sold, custom work in a similar style may be commissioned. Please contact us for further information.
