This lovely little pendant is made of solid patterned mokume gane, made with 14kt red gold, palladium and sterling silver, with an etched finish for added contrast. Shown here on a sterling silver chain.

50% deposit due at time of order. When your piece is complete we will send a photo before shipping. The remaining 50% will be due prior to shipping.

Mokume gane is an ancient metalworking technique in which layers of precious metal are alloyed together with heat and pressure then twisted, carved and forged to create beautiful organic patterns. The metals I use include gold, silver, copper, platinum and palladium.

Mokume Gane translates from Japanese as "wood eye metal" which reflects the wood grain patterning admired by the Japanese craftsmen. This rare metal lamination process is similar to damascus and was developed and used by Japanese swordsmiths in the 17th century for the adornment of samurai swords.


All mokume jewelry are available in any size, width, profile, pattern, metal combination and finish. Select a stone from our inventory, have us find something special or provide your own stone for setting. All pieces are made individually from start to finish and so will be completely custom. Please note that all mokume patterns are unique and so will vary slightly from those pictured.
